Announcement
It all started in 1975 when we were married and began caretaking a trout farm up the Elk River on the south Oregon coast. We were given permission to harvest myrtle wood so we climbed up the hillside, freehanded the cutting of the myrtle wood slabs with a 60” bar Stihl chain saw. From there, we packed each 40 – 100 pound piece down the winding trail using pack boards. We have stored the wood for 48 years as it dried and cured.
California Bay Laurel and Oregon Myrtle are the same species, Umbellularia Californica. Myrtle, which is found only in northern California, southern Oregon, and the Holy Land, has beautiful color, spicy aroma, and figure, including burl and curly fiddle back. Rick and Ellen
As of December, we have just finished and listed our first six myrtle wood tables with more to come.
We have been enhancing digital photos and entering the 8 x 10' Luma print archival photos in 11 x 14' frames in local art shows. We have added several to our Etsy shop.
Just last December, I realized that materials I have collected over the years for the appliqued shirts should be shared.
Michelle, at Forget-Me-Knots in my hometown of Bandon, Oregon encouraged me to make kits with instructions and fabric. They are available to you on our Etsy shop. If you are on the southern Oregon coast, stop by Forget-Me-Knots in Bandon. Michelle now has them available.
I am very excited to share the love of creating!
We ship all of our shirts and photographs USPS shipping. The tables are shipped UPS.
